CFP Evaluation Form (used by advisors, TA, and instructor to evaluate the students’ CFP and presentation.
CFP Presentation
- Main emphasis: Critical Function Prototype?
- Your main emphasis should be on presenting your Critical Function Prototype? (CFP)
- Review your motivation and goals in choosing this CFP
- Show the design of your CFP and talk about what you learned
- You will also need to give a brief project definition statement
- key dates in your schedule (1–2 slides)
- reference your current progress, whether your ahead or behind on your schedule
- Include how you are doing on your schedule (use bullet points, no Gantt charts please)
- what is the next thing(s) your team is focusing on?
- Budget (1 slide)
Suggested content for CFP Presentation
(i.e., the structure or your presentation might look something like this)
- Preview/Outline Slide
- Slide(s) giving a brief definition of what your project is and your approach
- key dates in your schedule (very brief, 1–2 slides)
- reference your current progress, whether your ahead or behind on your schedule
- Include how you are doing on your schedule
- what is the next thing(s) your team is focusing on?
- Budget (1 slide max, very brief)
- how are you doing, spending, projected spending, fund raising…
- Describe chosen CFP, reminding audience what you hoped to learn from making it.
- Bring CFP to class if possible and show audience
- Describe what you learned, surprises, failures, etc…
- Take pictures and label the important things you want to show us
- Review/Summary Slide
- Conclusions Slide with contact info
How you will be evaluated
- Quality of prototype
- Is it at the appropriate level to answer objectives?
- Manufacturing quality
- Reasonable motivation behind prototype
- Reasonable test plan
- Reasonable execution of test plan and evaluation
- Presentation of results
- Quality of presentation
- Oral presentation
- Design of presentation
Additional Information
- Time: 12–15 minutes (you will get a warning at 12 minutes that you have 3 minutes remaining).
- All team members must be present
- Presenters will receive special consideration during final grading. This may push a student up a 1/3 of a grade if he/she is on the border between two grades.
