In contrast to ME4000 from Fall 2006, in 2007 you will only be doing CAD tutorials. These will be graded, but are not meant to be particularly challenging. They are primarily meant to provide a review of the CAD software so that you will be able to efficiently develop, present, evolve, and document your designs. It is preferred that you use Solid Works, but you are also welcome to use Pro E for these tutorials. What is most important is that your ENTIRE TEAM chooses ONE CAD platform that you ALL will use so that you can easily create, exchange, and combine models. It is also critical that you ALL use the same version of the CAD package, otherwise you will experience difficulties exchanging files.
Solid Works will be available in the Engman Lab (around the corner from the CADE Lab in EMCB 210)
ProE will be available in the CADE Lab in EMCB 224 and also the Engman Lab. Note that Pro Mechanica? only works on the lab2 and lab3 machines (doesn’t work on the fast machines in lab1).
Follow this links for detailed information information on SolidWorks Tutorials and ProE Tutorials (also linked off the sidebar).
