Pro E is the NOT official CAD software of the course. It is a less user-friendly high-end CAD package… though they are trying to be more like Solid Works… =)

On all of your tutorials, please turn in in class (required for 1st tutorial) or by 5pm on due date (or before) to the ME4000 basket in the ME office (2110 MEB). Print out the requested portion showing proof of completion (specified below) and put your name, your team name, your TA’s name on your print-out.
Tutorial 1 for ProE Users (Part Solid Modeling) (due Friday, Oct. 5 (in class or before))
- Complete Pages 1:44 on the Introduction to ProE Wildfire 3.0 Tutorial
- You will need to turn in hardcopies of screen shots of each part you make in the tutorial (ie. screen shots of a PISTON, a PISTON ROD, and a CONNECTING ROD)
- This tutorial will walk you through some basic solid modeling techniques such as extrusions, mirrors, sketching, and hole placements.
- Approximate Duration of this exercise: 1–2 hrs.

Tutorial 2 for ProE Users (Assemblies)
due Friday, Oct. 19 (to M E4000? basket in ME office(MEB 2110)
- Complete Pages 45:55 on the Introduction to ProE Wildfire 3.0 Tutorial
- You will need to turn in hardcopies of 3 screen shots of the assembly you make in the tutorial similar to the one shown below
- This tutorial will walk you through some basic assembly techniques such as creating movable joints, fixed joints, and basic attachments.
- Approximate Duration of this exercise: 0.5–1 hr

Tutorial 3 for ProE Users (Drawings)
due Friday, Oct. 26 (to M E4000? basket in ME office(MEB 2110)
- Complete Pages 56:68 on the Introduction to ProE Wildfire 3.0 Tutorial
- You will need to turn in a drawing much like the one below of the connecting rod. Be sure that your drawing includes at least 3 orthogonal views and one isometric view.
- This tutorial will walk you through some drawing techniques such as general/isometric views, front/top/side views, listing dimensions, and using drawing sheet templates.
- Approximate Duration of this exercise: ~1 hr

Tutorial 4 for ProE Users (ProE Mechanica/FEA)
due Friday, Nov. 2 (to M E4000? basket in ME office(MEB 2110)
- Complete the FEA Tutorial
- You will need to turn in a hardcopy of a screen shot of the analyses that you performed as well as a comparison of the FEA analysis results to your own analytical results on paper.
- be sure to pay particular attention to the way you apply loads
- Approximate Duration of this exercise: ~1–2 hrs.
