Program Educational Objectives

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah will produce Bachelor of Science graduates who will:

  1. Establish successful engineering careers and, if desired, gain admission to graduate and professional programs.
  1. Appropriately apply acquired knowledge and skills to solve a broad range of engineering problems.
  1. Work effectively and professionally, both as individuals and in teams.
  1. Consider the economic, social, and ethical consequences of their work.
  1. Communicate ideas and technical information effectively.
  1. Continue to develop professionally and remain current in their field.
