The award committee for the University of Utah’s WAGS Innovation in Technology Award has selected Dr. Amun Jarzembski’s thesis, “Thermal transport across nanoscale vacuum gaps and the transition to phonon heat conduction” to represent the University of Utah in the regional WAGS competition.
Jarzembski is a Ph.D. candidate and part of Associate Professor Keunhan (Kay) Park’s research group. Selection comes with a $250 prize awarded by the Graduate School. His submission will now be prepared in order to enter the larger WAGS competition.
The Graduate School seeks nominations each year for the University of Utah’s submission to the the Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS) and University Microfilms International (UMI) Innovation in Technology Award. WAGS and UMI choose an outstanding dissertation or Masters thesis which demonstrates the development of a new technology or the new application of technology in a creative way to solve a problem.
