Just under 500 mechanical engineering students will be competing in the 2015 Design Day on Thursday, April 23, 11:00 am—3:00 pm at the U Olpin Union ballrooms and surrounding area.

Design Day showcases students’ ability to strategically problem solve today’s engineering needs. This event is free and open to the public!

Freshmen students will assemble in the Pacific Ocean to demonstrate their programming skills in a Battleship Competition. Always a crowd pleaser, junior mechatronics students built tele-operated robots to compete in a Robot Volleyball Competition.

Thirty senior capstone projects ranging from an early-warning system designed to detect diseases in their initial stages, to an aerial robot collision avoidance system, to a wirelessly controlled motor for longboards and the FSAE racecar, are a few of the projects you do not want to miss.

Visit the Design Day site for the complete list of projects and their descriptions.
