Graduate Student Advisory Council
The Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) is a liaison between Graduate Students and Faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Department at University of Utah. Our aim is to enhance your graduate experience by promoting the interests and concerns of the graduate student body, as well as establishing a dynamic community through active participation.
Do you have an idea on how we can make your experience here better? Please feel free to contact us at uofu.me.gsac@gmail.com.
During the academic year of 2021-2022 GSAC organized more than 20 events for the graduate student body. We gathered data on students’ salaries, stipends, and finances and advocated for graduate student interests at ME Department town halls. We organized and funded department BBQs, social hours, game nights, and hikes to build a strong sense of graduate student community. We volunteered on Department committees and at the Grad Expo and Graduate Visitation weekend to recruit new students to the Department. And we are always looking to plan new and exciting activities!
Curious about the future? Want to be a leader in our department? Interested in joining GSAC?
